Kagiso sets his sights on a brighter future

As the newly-elected chairperson of the Representative Council of Learners (RCL) at the provincial level, Kagiso is poised to make a lasting impact on his community, “I was elected as chairperson for the first time in my life, much at the provincial scale, so it’s still buzzing to me,” he said.
From the City of Coal, Kagiso has already achieved an impressive milestone. He founded a non-profit organisation last year, dedicated to upskilling and empowering individuals in this community.
As he embarks on his new role as chairperson, Kagiso is committed to ensuring that the RCL is a vibrant and inclusive platform for learner’s voices. His vision is to create a province-wide movement that empowers young people to become active citizens and leaders.
