Hlalanikahle NGO leads the charge in school recycling
A life-changing recycling NGO works tirelessly to instill a culture of sustainability in eMalahleni
Their innovative programme, launched earlier this year, aims to educate pupils about the importance of keeping a clean environment and the benefits of recycling.
By partnering with the schools, Hlalanikahle is working tirelessly to instill a culture of sustainability in young minds.
To achieve this goal, the organisation is seeking assistance from companies to donate essential equipment, “For our day-to-day processes, we request assistance from private and public stakeholders to assist with the merchandise we use for collection such as wheel bins, trolleys, and large recycling bins, transportation for collection, compactors, balers, and other recycling machinery,” said George Ntuli.
The recyclables’ organisation is currently governed by six individuals: Celester Nkosi (chairperson), Hendrick Mabena (deputy chairperson), George Ntuli (secretary), Boitumelo Khumalo (deputy secretary), Noxolo Khumalo (treasurer) and Believe Ndlovu (organiser).
