Photos: Frozen Frenzy hits Witbank
It started with a simple idea to have a celebration for a few girls that loved the movie Frozen, but Cher Kruger from Hit the Floor Events could not have anticipated that it would spiral into an event where almost 6 000 people attended.
Children of all ages were treated to a magical day on 25 July at The Venue where Elsa and Anna took to the stage singing their favorites to a sea of children that were left mesmerized and excited.
Even Kristoff made an appearance with his hand puppet Sven that had as interesting a conversation as a moose and any man could. Although Hans was almost booed off stage, he still managed a special dance with Anna, which included a few spins and twirls that left most of the little princesses in the crowd speechless.
From ribbon dancing to a snow play area, one definite highlight was when Olaf made his appearance. In the blink of an eye, children scattered to see the sweet, cuddly snowman that loves Summer. He was hugged and pulled and kissed and snuggled as he moved from the back of the venue to the stage, and proceeded to impress with his dance moves and manage to drag a few dads on stage to compete against. Olaf will definitely be making an appearance again at future shows around Witbank so be sure to keep an eye out for updates.
Another hugely successful part of the show was the Princess Anna & Elsa look alike competition. Due to its popularity, it took hours to get through all the precious little contestants perfectly dressed in their some-bought, some-made, but every one unique dresses. While each tiny face was introduced on stage, and delighted in showing off their plaits and shiny crowns, some very proud mommies and daddies sat beaming in their seats.
Just at the point where all the festivities seemed to peak, another massive attraction came when Leven took to the stage. A crowd quickly jumped to their feet and sang all the hugely popular songs for which this local band has become renowned.
Following the success of the event, it seems Witbank has much more to look forward to and next on the agenda is The Coming of the Minions. Information updates will be available as soon as dates are set.
It seems Witbank might have a monthly date with the Disney stars.
