Finalists Chosen
Following the recent Face of the Highveld Competition held during the months of September and October, an independent judging session took place, at which finalists were announced.
Representatives from Highveld Mall, Middelburg Mall, Witbank News, ShowMe Witbank / Middelburg, Kabod House, Hope Revolution Reading Centre, Highveld House and Witbank SPCA attended a judging session hosted by Highveld Mall at which drinks and snacks were on offer.

It was not an easy task, looking through a sea of gorgeous faces, to choose only ten finalists in each category and the team had great difficulty in making decisions, a task that nobody could envy. However, through time and patience the top ten in each category was chosen and can be viewed on ShowMe Witbank & Middelburg FB Page.
Voting will take place from 11 November to 7 December.
All you simply need to do is find your child’s photo on the ShowMe Witbank & Middelburg Facebook Page and like it. One like = one vote. Invite all your friends and family to vote for the cutest child. Most votes per category will determine the winners, to be announced mid December. Prizes to the value of almost R16 000 are up for the grabs for the lucky recipients.
A total of R4200 was awarded to the representatives of various charities including R1000 worth of educational books for the Hope Revolution Reading Centre, R1000 toward the running costs of Kabod House, which is a safe haven for abandoned and abused babies, and R1000 worth of under garments and deodorants for children ranging in ages 6-13 years old at Highveld House. An additional charity that received a monetary contribution was Witbank and Middelburg SPCA (R600 to each).
“Whilst we are always incredibly grateful for all the dog food that we receive via donation, I think something we do often struggle with is the daily running costs of the SPCA, as it is at the end of the day a business that incurs many expenses like telephone bills, lights and water to mention but a few,” said Middelburg SPCA manager Petru Oberholzer.
For that reason, a contribution was given in the form of cash, rather than dog and puppy food.
