Showcase – Le Bonheur Croc Farm
Situated on the Babylonstoren Road outside Paarl the picturesque Le Bonheur Farm provides stunning views of the Winelands and uniquely is also home to more than 500 crocodiles. They offer a great variety of outings including catch and release fishing, with rods for hire; facilities for bring-and-braai; picnic baskets to enjoy on the lawns; and guided croc pond tours for wild animal enthhusiasts.
Linger longer at Le Bonheur croc farm
With facilities that include a sprawling waterfront garden boasting jetties to fish from, a braai area overlooking a tranquil dam, croc ponds stocked with over 500 crocs – Le Bonheur croc farm offers opportunities for team-building / year-end celebrations with a difference.
Carlos Oliveros of Rapa Nui Pizzeria conjures up wood-fired pizzas the Italian way, sumptuous spitbraais and exotic cocktails enabling guests to kick off their shoes and sip away on a jetty overlooking the tranquil dam, with the sound of the fish eagle as backdrop; socialising while awaiting the delicious food being prepared!
For the more actively-inclined, add to the fun by doing some catch and release bass fishing, enjoying a picnic on the lawn or joining a sunset croc pond tour.
All of this can be wrapped up into a memorable afternoon for attractive rates ranging from R133 (self-catering) to R300 (catered) per person.
Croc Cage Diving
For thrill seekers, expand your visit with an intriguing daytime croc cage dive experience, or exciting night dive; either for an additional R375 per person.
Note: This ‘local is lekker’ group rate of R375 per person is offered by facilitators of African Crocdive and applies for a group of four or more that would all like to do the croc cage dive. It is a limited offer subject to availability, and other terms and conditions apply. For any other larger group bookings email info@africancrocdive.com for special group discounts. Croc cage dive participants need to present their local I.D or licence on the day of the dive.
Sunset tours, drinks and dives
Slow down the pace and savour the last of 2016 by watching the sun go down over the “water hole” with 500 crocs. Or linger in the waterfront garden with a glass of wine in anticipation of a wood-fired pizza. Participation in night croc dives can be added.
The special sunset package will be available daily from 26th December to 2nd January and, outside these dates, on Fridays and Saturdays until 10th January 2017.
