Our Parskuip Neighboorhood Marketplace at Windmeul Cellar
Our Parskuip Neighboorhood Marketplace at Windmeul Cellar or ‘Ons Parskuip Kontreimark’ is brimming with everything from plump olives and fragrant spices to creamy cheeses and delicious preserves. This permanent market is home to the handmade goods of a variety of retailers and offers an abundance of local goods which are produced in a sustainable manner.
The shop is open daily and serves as a showcase for a variety of goods that are created locally – from fynbos honey, canned delicacies, coffee, freshly baked artisinal breads, olives, biltong, pestos, olives, chacuterie, cheese, droewors, tapenades, relishes, nougat, dried fruits, gifts, preserves – the list goes on.
Choose a few local ingredients to experiment with at home or grab a freshly prepared dinner to enjoy when you need a healthy snack in a hurry. It’s also a great place to find a special gift!
Danie Marais, cellarmaster at Windmeul Kelder says, “We opened the space as an add on to the cellar and in celebration of our Monthly Farmers’ Markets 7th Birthday. We’ve bought produce from our market exhibitors to sell in the Marketplace during the week (and later on, on Saturdays that we do not have a farmers’ market).”
Another great aspect of the marketplace is their kiddies play area. It is a large enclosed area with swings, a jungle gym and a slide and can keep your children busy while you shop or have a bite to eat or sip on one of Windmeul’s renowned wines.
The marketplace therefore provides a great family day out. Take your friends and family and support our local farmers!
The market is open from 8am to 5pm daily and is situated at Windmeul Kelder. See map below:
