Skeurkrans Hiking Trail Naboomspruit
Overview
In the Waterberg Mountains, not far from Naboomspruit and about two hours drive from Pretoria, lies the Skeurkrans Hiking Trail. This is one of the most picturesque trails in the region and offers hikers of all abilities an opportunity to enjoy this very beautiful area.

- The trail consists of two individual day walks from a central base camp.
- The accommodation consists of three A-Frame wooden huts with bunk beds and mattresses.
- There is a well equipped braai area with pots, pans, kettle, gas braai, fridge, tables and chairs.
- Ablution facilities consist of flush toilets, showers and basins. Hot water is supplied by a “Donkey” boiler.

The design and development of this lovely camp is outstanding and it is one of those places that are really, really special.
The Trail
The trail comprises of two circle courses of 9kms and 5.5kms.
The routes give the hiker an astonishing diversity of landscape and vegetation.
Throughout the rainy season the grassland comes to life and numerous mountain streams are to be found along the routes. The views from the mountain tops are somewhat remarkable.
The Skeurkrans trail is one of the most stunning trails in the Waterberg mountains and merits being comprised in any hiking club’s journal. Some segments of the trail are rather tough but on the whole the trail should be appropriate for the whole family. The trail is well marked and preserved and is a real recognition to the farmer.
