Deneys Croc Ranch, Deneysville
Take the kids to Deneys Croc Ranch in Deneysville, Vaal, to see the scariest reptiles in Africa. Nile Crocodiles have a fearsome reputation, and for good reason. You don’t want to meet the beasts that can easily take down a Buffalo in the wild, but they make for fascinating viewing from the safety of an elevated path at a crocodile ranch.
Deneys Croc Ranch is a working Crocodile Farm in the Vaal, near the delightful marina village of Deneysville on the Vaal Dam. Educational tours are conducted daily, and will teach you about the Nile Crocodile and the various aspects of crocodile farming. Feeding time tours offer an unforgettable experience of the power and strength of a crocodile’s jaws and teeth and the speed at which he can can move! You will learn some fascinating facts e.g. a group of crocodiles lying in the sun, basking, is (naturally) called a ‘bask of crocodiles’!
Facilities include a pub and restaurant, and a lion enclosure where you can see lions and play with lion cubs.
