The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Free State on Friday announced Councillor Jeff Zwane as the party’s Mayoral candidate for the Metsimaholo Municipality, which includes the towns and township areas of Sasolburg, Deneysville and Oranjeville.
Councillor Zwane has over the years become part of the Metsimaholo fabric and is currently a DA councillor. He started off his career in education as a teacher in 1978 and retired as Deputy Chief Education Specialist in 2015.
Dr Roy Jankielsohn, MPL – DA Free State Leader, says Zwane will use his leadership experience to fulfil his desire to rebuild Metsimaholo after its evident collapse under the corrupt ANC coalition currently controlling the municipality.
“The neighbouring Midvaal municipality in Gauteng has been under uninterrupted DA governance for the past 10 years and has been awarded the best run municipality in Gauteng by the Auditor-General (AG) in 2020. The AG has also indicated that other municipalities in Gauteng should replicate its model of good financial and performance management,” says Jankielsohn.

It is this type of good clean governance that Jeff aims to bring to Metsimaholo as Mayor. After years of neglect, it is time to finally vote for a government that the residents of Metsimaholo deserve.
