ELM implements Stage 2 water restrictions
The Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) has announced that it would implement Stage 2 water restrictions.
In a statement on Tuesday ELM said it will reduce water consumption by 30%.
According to the municipality, this is due to increased water consumption over the past 2 weeks.
“The restriction is to ensure that reservoir storage capacity recovers back to 60%.”
The municipality encourages residents to reduce consumption by using water for basic essentials only to prevent the implementation of further restriction stages.
