SAA can’t be saved, says Free Market Foundation
OHANNESBURG – South African Airways can’t be saved. That’s the view from the Free Market Foundation.
This follows the announcement that the airline will be undergoing radical restructuring aimed at ensuring operational and financial sustainability.

The foundation’s Terry Markman, says politicians should keep away from State-Owned Entities.
“SAA hasn’t made a profit for 10 years and we think it owes something like 20-30 billion rands. All this restructuring hasn’t helped.”

“I think it’s all politics. If politicians had nothing to do with it, we may well have had an airline that could fly. Politicians should have nothing to do with business whatsoever.”
