Tree Owl Market News 9 February 2020
The Tree Owl Market was held yesterday 9 February at Brandmullers in Vereeniging.
Marius Dippenaar, who won the Newcomer of the year award in the IFM102.2 Melody Awards in 2018 entertained the crowd with his wide array of music and his excellent guitar skills. The visitors to the market thoroughly enjoyed him.
Every month, the profit from the stall fees is donated to a chosen charity and currently B-Blessed is being supported.
As entry to the market and the live entertainment is free, the public is requested to please donate any perishable foods on the day for B-Blessed which feeds many children at various schools in the area where they are given a cooked meal as well as breakfast on a daily basis. The exhibitors donated products which were also auctioned yesterday in aid of B-Blessed.
Should anyone wish to make a donation of non-perishable food towards this cause, they are welcome to take it along to the next market which will be held on Sunday 8 March. Alternatively, the donation can be dropped off at Brandmullers and Michele will make sure that they receive it.
On the 8th of March, there will be a double CD launch. Maritza’s latest CD “I’m from the Country” will be launched as well as Gerrie Snyman’s “Pedal steel guitar, my way”. Gerrie built his own pedal steel guitar many years ago as they were not available in South Africa. He is one of very few people in South Africa that has mastered this instrument.
