Moments 2016 Spectacular – Who Are The Willie Venter Dancers and Cassandra?
Dancers… The unsung hero’s of any production, although always visible on stage, one tends to focus on the main performer and not the movements of the dancers in the background, not too dissimilar to a backing vocalist. What the audience does not realise is that they generally work the hardest and longest hours on any production!
The Willie Venter Dancers are rated some of best dancers in the country. They have appeared in numerous music videos as well as in the Afrikaans Movie – “As Jy Sing” and can be seen performing on Juanita Du Plessis’s Platinum dvd.
They have performed on massive stage productions, Skouspel and Afrikaans is Groot. Skouspel attracts an audience of approximately 40000 over two weekends and is recorded and broadcast country wide.
The Willie Venter Dancers have performed at the Tempo awards, SARU (South African Rugby Awards), AFI – All African Fashion awards, Miss South Africa and Miss South Africa Teen.
Passion, professionalism and perfection is the motto here, something that filters down from their mentor, Willie Venter who does not except anything less from his dancers!
Now meet Cassandra!
Although not part of Willie Venters group, she also “came out from under his wing” so to speak. Cassandra used to perform with Winray Fortuin (On-Que) when she was younger and under Willie Venter’s direction performed at many corporate functions, charity events and fashion shows.
She is now an independent artist who has come into her own mainly performing at The Barnyard Theatres in various productions around the country and also as a solo artist at corporate functions.
Avid Barnyard goers would have seen her in Nite Fever, The Final Countdown and Seven Wonders in which she portrayed Christina Aguilera.
The Willie Venter Dancers and Cassandra will be seen on stage at this years Moments Spectacular, performing alongside top SA Artists like Jennifer Jones, Sonja Haroldt, Corlea Botha and many many more !
