Baby Moses, baby sanctuary needs your help!
Baby Moses Baby Sanctuary was established in 2003 as a place of safety to meet the rising need of orphans and vulnerable children in South Africa.
We are a Non Profit Organisation, registered with the Department of Social Welfare, and currently provide refuge, care and support for 128 abused, neglected, abandoned and orphaned children. These children are based in Gauteng on the West Rand and Bodibe and Modderspruit in the North West Province.
In addition, resources permitting, we also provide assistance, care and support to other destitute and vulnerable individuals and families, referred to us by social workers, on an adhoc basis.
Baby Moses Baby Sanctuary is a Public Benefit Organization registered with the South African Revenue Services (SARS). As a registered Section 18A public benefit organisation, companies and individuals are able to claim a deduction on taxable income in respect of donations.
We confirm that more than 75% of our beneficiaries are Black African as defined by the BBBEE Codes of Good Practice. Companies donating 1% or more of their profits to verified organisations can earn BBBEE points in the SED category. Our profile and funding proposal, relevant certificates and audited financial statements are available on request.
The challenges in running an organisation like this are no doubt not very different from any other household or business, apart from maybe having a lot of children, many with a range of medical and psychological problems. Like any other business or household we have a lack of space, funding and resources.
Our costs are approximately R200,000 per month and we are totally dependent on individuals and companies for donations. We would like to appeal to you to provide us with the much needed financial support to assist us in the way we care for and support vulnerable children and families in the communities in which we work. Any contribution, no matter how big or small, would be appreciated. Our critical need, at this stage, is financial support to cover our shortfalls on salaries, telephone, utilities and other sundry expenses, not adequately covered by current donors.
Should you be in a position to host a fund-raising event, such as a golf day, charity dinner, etc, we would gladly support it.
