De Smidt’s Timbers, not just any sawmill !!!

De Smidt’s Timbers are an independent sawmill located in Unitaspark Vereeniging and can produce and supply various timber and timber related products ranging from planks, shavings, pallets and even unique outdoor and indoor furniture made from offcuts.

The company is well equipped with the relevant equipment to manufacture and supply virtually any timber related product as well as perform offsite services such as tree felling and clearing, added to this they boast a staff complement with more than 15 years’ experience in the timber industry!

De Smidt’s mostly produce their own timber through tree felling cutting out the middle man, which in turn creates the advantage of better pricing for the end user, however they do have a substantial supplier base should they not be able to keep up with demand and have negotiated pricing structures in such a manner so as not to affect end user pricing negatively.

The owners and staff are extremely environmentally conscious and when on site, consider the impact on the environment where tree felling and clearing takes place. Erosion, precipitation, whether trees are indigenous or alien, type of trees and impact of its removal from the specific environment are all taken into consideration and their clients are advised accordingly before removal.

No timber is wasted and timber which is not used as product is processed as firewood, wood shavings and even as wooden support wedges for transportation companies.
