Sukasambe orphanage visit – 23rd June 2012
42 bikes and a fleet of cars stormed Saturday’s cold and rainy weather to support Sukasambe Children Home.
Sukasambe Home touched many people’s hearts. Two star newspaper journalists were there to cover the run. YFM was also there, with three presenters. An Interview will be conducted next Saturday. Reality TV show, etv touching lives and daily Sun canceled at the last moment due to rainy weather.
It was an event organised by Soweto Motorbike School, thought to give back to community.
The following companies also contributed: Vision Consulting company, Sungusungu, Bambolunye. Yamaha SA and Anix Telekoms.
Two bakkies and Quantum kombi were loaded full of stuff.
We managed to donate the following:
- Modern double door fridge worth R10.000
- 38 Blankets
- 8 Wheelchairs
- Groceries worth R2000
- Bundles of toilet papers
- Bundles of Pampers
- 50 cm Plasma TV worth R20.0000- DSTV to be stalled before the end of this week.
- 24 Bed fitted sheets and their pillow cases
- Uniform for 8 female staff members
- 5 Pairs of boots for 4 male staff members and caps
- Winter hands gloves for all children.
- We raised R8000 salary for a sister volunteer at the Home.
It was also Mr. Khumalo’s birthday on Saturday, and we celebrated it in style.
Vaal Commandos bikers welcomed us and were part of the event, later hosted us at Chisanyama in Zone 7 Sebokeng.
It was a day well spent, and all arrived safely home.
