Ngwathe Municipal Ward By-Election this week
The voter turnout for this ward in the 2021 Muncipal Election was 42,62%.
Registered voters in Ngwathe’s Ward 7 will vote in the Municipal Ward By-election on Wednesday August 28. The ward was previously represented by the ANC, and became vacant after the death of Cllr Modise Moroenyane who sadly passed away on 5 June. He was 47 years old.
The three political party candidates contesting for Ward 7 are:
Thabo Isaac Mpholo (ACT)
Tshediso Ramabodu (ANC)
Mpolokeng Jeanett Ramokhoase (EFF)

Voting stations
Voting stations for Ward 7 are at St Paul Apostolic Church, Emmanuel Fellowship Centre, Tent next To Parys Hospital, The African Presbeterian Church, Mooihoek Farm, Weiveld Agriculture And Hotel School and Boholong Farm School.
Voting stations will be open from 07:00 till 17:00.
Take your ID – either a green barcoded ID book or smartcard ID, or a valid temporary ID certificate to the voting station. You will not be allowed to vote with your drivers licence or a photocopy of your ID.
Applications for special votes
Special voting will take place at voting stations as well as through home visits on August 27. Applications for special votes closed on August 16. If you applied for a special vote, you should have received an SMS notifying you of the outcome once the application was processed. You can also check the status of your application online at www.elections.org.za.
Check your voting status
Voters can check their voting status at the local (municipal) Electoral Commission (IEC) office on weekdays during office hours. Alternatively you can check your voter status online at www.registertovote.elections.co.za.
Voters are reminded that it is a criminal offence to vote in a ward in which they are not residing, the IEC said.
A total of 4 055 voters are registered in Ward 7 according to the IEC’s records.
