West Coast Crayfish Trail, Elands Bay

Unspoilt beaches and sea cliffs on the Crayfish TrailThe West Coast Crayfish trail is a 6-day guided trail along the pristine and virtually untouched coastline of the West Coast. The trail forms part of the South-North tourism route, a community-based tourism initiative based on sustainable tourism principles.

The trail starts in Elands Bay, where you will meet up with your local guide, and ends in Ebenhaeser to the north. It includes overnight accommodation at community owned guesthouses in the remote villages of Steenboksfontein, Lambertsbaai and Papendorp. The trail offers an intimate and unmatched experience with the wild beauty of the West Coast. Walk along untouched beaches along sea-side cliffs, spot some of South Africa’s most precious birds and see whales, dolphins and the spectcular wild flowers in season. Trail info

Getting there: take the N7 going north to Piketburg. Just before Piketburg, take the R366 turnoff and continue along this road all the way into Elands Bay.
