Saronsberg Theatre, Tulbagh
Saronsberg Theatre was founded by Nick Van Huyssteen owner of Saronsberg Wine Cellar, and established by Chris Van Niekerk of “Binnelanders”.
Two years after restoration and opening, the Saronsberg Theatre has since become the entertainment hub of the town, providing musical theatre, children’s theatre, shows for the elderly, drama and live performances by local bands in Afrikaans and English.
The theatre has hosted big names and shows such as Chris Chameleon, Jack Parow, Die Antwoord, Liz Meiring, Dowwe Dolla, Flip a Coin, Blues Broers, Albert Frost, Zinkplaat, Gerald Clark, Die Naaimasjien, Valiant Swart, Koos Kombuis, Jan en die Boointjieraak, Lollos, Tuesdays with Morrie.
The Theatre is managed by husband and wife team, (Tulbagh locals) Cliff and Tina Coetzee, who have since expanded into Supper Theatre, serving delicious cuisine paired with award winning Saronsberg Wines. Saronsberg Theatre also hosts midweek Blues/Jam sessions on Wednesday nights.
Shows start at 19:30 unless indicated otherwise. The bar is open from 18:30 till late.
