San Info Centre, Andriesville, Askham, Northern Cape
The San Info Centre in Andriesville, Askham is a small collection of wooden buildings that serves as a tourism information centre for San related cultural tour offerings and shop for San Bushman curios and crafts. It is also the western point for the Footprints of the San Route that connects the San community in Kimberley across the Northern Cape to the small community in Andriesville.
The San Info Centre is also the base for guided walks with a San tracker, who will show you basic San tracking skills and also teach you about the local flora and fauna, and how the San interact with their environment. This presents a very special opportunity to interact with and learn from members of an ancient hunter-gatherer culture and community – one that was almost decimated and which now exists only in small pockets in the Kalahari in South Africa and Botswana.
