Riemvasmaak 4×4 Trails, Northern Cape
There are several 4×4 Trails on the Riemvasmaak Conservancy near the Augrabies National Park, north of Upington. These range from easy to extremely challenging, and traverse deep river, Kalahari sand dune, stony ground, rocky tracks, dongas and hills. There are three main trails – the Perdepoort Trail, the Molopo Trail and the Deurspring Trail, each of which cover about 160km.
An interesting aspect to the Riemvasmaak Trails is that you can opt for a local guide, who will show you interesting places where you can see rock art, and teach you about the local people, fauna and flora.
