Mjejane Game Reserve, Hectorpsruit

The 4000ha Mjejane Game Reserve is connected to the southern end of the Kruger National Park near Hectorspruit, and has a reputation for excellent game viewing.

The Mjejane Game Reserve is a private community owned reserve, and though there are no fences between it and the Kruger Park, the reserve has been developed in areas along the banks of the Crocodile River into privately owned river lodges. Some lodges are completely privately owned and run, and governed by a home-owners association, while time-share is offered on others.

These private accommodations offer the ultimate in exclusive and private safari and game viewing experiences. You don’t even need to leave the lodge to see game. You can cool off in the pool with a cocktail and experience some of the best game viewing South Africa has to offer.

The Crocodile River is known for an abundance of hippo and buffalo in particular, though the Reserve is a Big 5 reserve and you will also see lions, many species of antelope, elephants, rhino, zebra, giraffe and other species as they head to the river to drink…and that’s before you take a game drive.
