Milnerton Golf Course, Cape Town, Western Cape
Milnerton Golf Course is claimed to be the only true links golf course in Africa. Situated about 15 minutes from the city of Cape Town, bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on the west and a lagoon on the east and with spectacular views of the iconic Table Mountain, the course provides a truly unique golfing experience.
The course was established in 1913 when 6 holes were laid out. It has since been developed into a world class championship golf course based on the 9 out, 9 in concept typical of links courses in Scotland. The course is relatively flat but with the sea, the lagoon and the 7 beautiful water holes there is no shortage of challenges especially when the Cape winds are up.
The course has hosted a number of PGA events as well as the South African Open. For a true links golfing experience the course is a must play for visitors to Cape Town.
Vistors are welcome except on Wednesdays, Saturday and Sunday mornings.
