Klaserie Private Nature Reserve
The Klaserie Private Nature Reserve is a 60 000 ha privately owned game reserve adjoined to the Kruger National Park and Timbavati.
The reserve lies just over the ‘border’ between the southern Limpopo Province, near the town of Hoedspruit, and Mpumalanga.
The Klaserie River runs through the reserve and the three exclusive Klaserie Bush Camps located in the north-western stretch of the reserve afford excellent views of animals coming to the river and waterholes to drink.
There are both self-catering and luxury camp options, and the reserve accommodates families as well as travellers looking for an exclusive experience. Activities on the reserve include bush walks, game tracking, and day or night safaris.
There is no border between the Klaserie and Kruger National Park, which together with other privately owned reserves such as Timbavati make up the Greater Kruger National Park.
Getting there: From JHB take the N4 through Witbank to Middelburg and on to Belfast. At Belfast turn onto the R540 for Dullstroom and Lydenburg. At Lydenburg take the R36 to Orichstad to Hoedspruit. In Hoedpsruit, turn right at the 2nd four way stop and travel for about 10km till you see the sign for Timbavati. Turn left here and travel past the airport. You will see a sign for the Klaserie Reserve on your left.
