Honeydew Mazes,Honeydew, Randburg

Honeydew Mazes, Randburg, Johannesburg

Would you like to participate in a fun activity with the family? Then what about taking up the challenge of finding your way through the Honeydew Mazes?

There are a large number of different options, and even these are changed often.

  • Green Maze – a very tricky small maze made from indigenous plants.
  • Bee Maize designed as a honeycomb with 3.5km of pathways in a cornfield
  • 2 x Rope maze – suits everyone. Race each other over and under the ropes!
  • 5 x six minute mazes, mind puzzles – suits everyone.
  • Soccer shooting game – suits everyone.
  • Climbing wall – traverse the highest peaks, suits 12 and under.
  • Hoopla – suits everyone.
  • Labyrinth – suits everyone.
  • Elemental maze –this is a very tricky maze that will take about 90 minutes to solve.

We took our 8 year old granddaughters and did the big maze. They were thoroughly entertained for a couple of hours as were we. Finding the secret gardens and then hunting for the clues hidden in the garden was great fun.

Honeydew Mazes, Randburg

For children over 9 and adults, we have the option of our very popular Moonlight Mazes, which are generally held every 2 weeks or so, usually on a Saturday evening. The format of these is different, as you bring your own picnic and torches. Arrive at 17h30, enjoy the sunset and play on the smaller mazes. Have supper.  Everyone must be here by 18h15 as we go into the maze at around 7.00pm. It is great fun.

How it works

Honeydew Mazes, Randburg, JohannesburgBasically you can just arrive in comfortable clothes, shoes and hats. Most people then do the big maze, and relax in the shade when finished, enjoying their ice-cream (free, if they have answered the quiz nicely!) and then play on the games and puzzles in the courtyard area. Average visit lasts about 3 hours.

There is a short path for people with prams and small children! Please refer to the website address below for information on corporate events, school outings and prices.

Open to the general public on week-ends and public holidays from 10h00 till 17h00. Last entry to the mazes is at 14h45, so you must be here before 14h30.  No booking is required, but if you have a large group, call first. You do need to book and pay a deposit if you want to reserve a picnic area, or for a kids birthday party.
