Hans Merensky Golf Course, Phalaborwa, Limpopo Province

Hans Merensky Golf CourseHans Merensky Golf Course is situated on land which once formed part of the Kruger National Park, close to the Phalaborwa Gate. The magnificent bushveld trees line the fairways and there is a feeling of openness and space.

A major attraction of the Hans Merensky course is the visiting wildlife and an edge that comes from knowing that at any point during your round something may jump out of the bushes, particularly during the drier winter months when elephant, several species of antelope, giraffe, warthogs and even the big cats occasionally can be seen.

The 18-hole Bob Grimsdell designed Championship Golf course has been voted as the best walking course in the country and has hosted many high-profile professional and amateur tournaments, a measure of its widely acknowledged quality.

From the moment one enters the club grounds, one feels the uniquely African experience – monkeys frolic in the enormous trees near the clubhouse which offers breathtaking views over the ninth and eighteenth holes.

Hans Merensky was a recent recipient of the Diamond Arrow Award for being the highest rated golf course in a survey conducted by the Limpopo Province.

Visitors welcome (Saturdays for members only, Sunday am members only, Sunday pm open to visitors). Visit the Hans Merensky Golf Course Website.
