Golfing in Springs, East Rand (Ekurhuleni), Gauteng

If you happen to be in Springs on a nice sunny day and fancy a spot of golf, then either of the below mentioned clubs will do the trick. Both golf courses are parkland courses and not too challenging, worth a day out indeed.

Pollak Park Golf Course

Originally a 9 hole golf course named “Springs Mines and West Springs Golf Club” the course was extended into 18 holes and renamed in honour of late Major Pollak “Pollak Park Golf Course. Ownership of the club was handed over to the members by Anglo American in 1975.

This 18-hole course underwent an extensive conditioning program in 2005 and now boasts one of the premium tracks on the East Rand. Predominantly lined with bluegum trees, the course layout offers golfers a classic parkland challenge.

Boasting a great club house and a Darren Plumb Proshop, this ever popular course has exceptional putting surfaces and is a true pleasure to play.

Please note that they are closed on Mondays

Directions: Take the N12 towards Witbank, taking the Springs/Daveyton off-ramp. Turn right over the bridge and proceed straight along the R51 for about 11 km. Springs Golf Club

The Springs Golf Club is a wonderfully laid out course. This beautiful 18-hole course was designed in 1937, featuring a driving range as well as many noteworthy facilities, including a bar, boardroom, function facilities, pro-shop and restaurant. This club should tick all the boxes.

At the T-junction turn right and right again into Nigel Road, keeping the course on the right. Take the second right into Parkes Avenue and the course is straight ahead.
