Ceres Transport Riders’ Museum, Breede River Valley
Visit the Ceres Transport Riders Museum to learn more about the early days in Ceres, the people, fauna and flora, the cultural heritage of the area and an excellent display of wagons and carriages. The Witzenberg area suffered a devastating earthquake in 1969 and you can see the photos and story of the disaster.
The museum also has a juice tasting spot, where you can sample the world famous “Ceres Fruit Juices”, proudly produced in Ceres.
Our mission is to preserve and promote Ceres’ historical and cultural heritage through collecting, conserving, documenting, research and displaying natural and cultural objects related to the history of the greater Ceres area.
The museum is open Monday to Friday from 08.30-17.00. It is closed daily between 13.00-14.00 and on Saturdays and Sundays.
