Black Leopard Camp at Thaba Tholo Wilderness, Lydenburg

Named after the rare and elusive black leopard that occurs in the area, the Black Leopard luxury tented safari camp on the 6000ha Thaba Tholo Wilderness reserve near Lydenburg in Mpumalanga offers a luxury safari experience in one of South Africa’s most scenic areas.

The camp is situated in a malaria-free area, en-route to the Kruger National Park from Gauteng. Attractions on the 6000ha valley reserve include ruins and historical artefacts, 500 metre cliffs, a pristine bush environment with a ‘bubbling’ stream running through it and plenty of game and birdlife.

Activities offered include game drives, birding, bush walks and historical tours.
Animals that can be seen include leopard (and if you are really lucky – black leopard), giraffe, large antelope species such as Kudu and Oryx, bird species such the rare Narina Trogon and Black Eagles.
