Adventure in Hazyview, Mpumalanga
Your first impression of Hazyview is likely to be one of a relaxed and tranquil farming town, representative of the calm lowveld (‘slowveld’) atmosphere and lifestyle. There’s no wrong assumption in this; it’s primarily a farming town. In fact, Hazyview is said to have the best climate for banana farming in the world, as it derives it’s name from the summer haze that forms with the tropical, lowveld heat-waves.
But, you’re unlikely to assume that Hazyview is one of the top adventure spots in all of South Africa. The town forms part of the Panorama Route, a string of towns along the Drakensberg escarpment in Mpumalanga that offer tourists prime access to some incredible outdoor activities in this truly remarkable region.
Hazyview lies within a ‘natural adventure park’ of rolling hills and gorges, offering adventurous tourists a wonderful opportunity to get out into this beautiful part of the country and experience it in the best way possible – close to nature! Go white water rafting along a wild river down the world’s third-largest canyon, abseiling down some of the most spectacular rock faces in Southern Africa, or quad-biking with one of the biggest quad-biking tour operators in South Africa. Whatever your preference and experience level, it’s all there for people of all ages and stages of life to enjoy! Book your adventure now!
Getting there: from Johannesburg, take the N4 going East into Mpumalanga. Follow the N4 all the way to Nelspruit. Here, take the R40 going North to Hazyview. At Hazyview, take the R536 going East towards the Kruger National Park. Induna adventures is about 5km outside of Hazyview along this road.
