M West Photography & Digital Training Newsletter Feb 2012
Welcome to our new monthly content driven newsletter. We will have a monthly section on new cameras and gadgets. Free Photoshop and Gimp training videos will be uploaded monthly to grow your skills. With tablets being the new craze we will upload a video review of an Android application every month. If you enjoy the content of this newsletter please share it with your friends and family.
This month we will look at the new Canon Powershot D20 which will replace the D10. 2 videos for Gimp (free photoshop alternative) and an Android application called Photo Mate are uploaded and ready to watch. Just follow the links below.
Our Beginners Photoshop Course is getting a new facelift. All the training videos are brand new and recorded on Photoshop CS5. Lots of new tips and tricks are included on the cd. If you use an earlier version of the software like CS 3 or 4, you will still benefit from this course as all the tools still work the same, it only looks slightly different and CS5 has a few new tricks:)

Canon Powershot D20
For the adventurous photographer always having a heavy SLR camera can be difficult. The Canon Powershot D20 is a very nice upgrade from the D10.
For the adventurous photographer always having a heavy SLR camera can be difficult. The Canon Powershot D20 is a very nice upgrade from the D10.
The D20 is 10 meter water proof and 1,5m shockproof, basicly a go anywhere camera even at -10°C. It has full HD 1080p video. It has an 5x optical zoom with 2 stop image stabilizing. The Digic 4 image processor ensures good quality even in low light conditions. The D20 has a 12.1 mega pixel sensor with a ISO range from 100 – 3200.
The D20 has a 3″ PureColor II TFT LCD screen with LiveView.
One big drawback that I feel would have made this camera perfect is the lack of a manual exposure function. It only has an Smart Auto and Program exposure mode and includes several scene modes.
A nice feature is the built in GPS to tag your location with your image.
Overall it looks to be the perfect replacement to the D10.
