Heritage Day in Stellenbosch

The Stellenbosch Heritage Festival consisted of various events throughout the weekend to celebrate our Stellenbosch Heritage. The festivities culminated on Heritage Day, on the banks of the Eerste River.

The annual River Festival merged with the Stellenbosch Heritage Day Festival, drew crowds to see the canoe race and the Maties Students tubing down the icy river. There was live entertainment on stage, reflecting the diverse culture of the crowd and stall owners got into the theme of the day with pancakes, curries, boerie rolls, mielies and biltong for sale. Our national past time, the braai, was well supported and the smell of lit wood braai’s drifted in the air throughout the day.
