The landscaper’s business proposal
Landscaping is not only about flora and fauna, or the love for nature. The passion of a landscaper is to look on in admiration at his hard work and dedication to create magnificence. Anyone with green fingers can be a landscaper, but not anyone can start a landscaping business and make a success of it.
As with any start-up business you are going to need a business proposal for investors or the bank. They don’t care whether you’re good at landscaping, all they care about is if you can make the business work and bring in a nice turn over by the end of the year.
Goals and objectives
Get out your pen and paper and roughly jot down what your goals and objectives are for your new venture. Writing down all your aspirations will give a good idea of where your priorities lie and it will also give insight in to how you can manage your landscaping business. Knowing where you stand and the goals you have in place is much better than having a vague idea of wanting to do something with planting trees and flowers.
The business proposal
This is where you market yourself and how good your business idea is, even if you have little doubt that it’s all going to work out. You’re taking a major risk, but any investment has risks involved, so don’t feel that there is something wrong with you if you’re feeling a little doubtful. The strategy for your business is how you plan to deliver value to your clients and how you plan to persuade potential investors. Use words in your proposal that stems confidence, if you believe in your business, then others will believe in it too.
Your business proposal should include how you plan to deliver better value than other landscapers. What’s different about your business? Investors and bankers want to know that they are not taking a risk on someone who has no clue about what they are doing. Therefore, if you have expertise in this field, state it and make it your key point that you have the knowledge and know-how to go into this business. They only want to know that you can pull it off so that they can offer you equipment finance and the much other expenditure you will need to start off.
Keep the faith and believe in yourself and the quality of your work. There is no greater feeling than being the boss of your business. You get to make the final decisions and you can work out what works best for you, instead of being on someone else’s schedule.
