Up the Creek – 30 Year Reunion at the River
Jägermeister presents Up the Creek – 30 Year Reunion at the River.
6 -9 February 2020
With less than 3 months to go, the countdown to Up the Creek 2020 has begun. Established in 1990, this music festival has grown from strength to strength but has always remained intimate (limited to 2 500 Creekers) and filled with great music, good food, short queues, and a whole lot of gees. It’s been one helluva ride! The festival is now calling all those loyal Creekers who made the vibe what it is today, to grab their festie-besties and join in celebrating Up the Creek’s 30 Year Reunion at the River – this is the year you don’t want to miss!
‘Up the Creek is the kiffest festival in South Africa hands down! What an honour to be there for the 30 year reunion 3 days before my 32nd birthday. Can’t believe I was 2 when it all began. You see that? That’s quick maths! What a vibe.’ – David Scott, The Kiffness.
Up the Creek 2020 will be taking place on 6 – 9 February on the very same spot where it all began – the banks of the Breede River outside of Swellendam. By now you know you’ll be getting some of the freshest sounds on the local music scene and, for the Reunion, the fest will be bringing back some epic throwback acts that have rocked the stages over the last three decades.
The initial 18 artists have been announced for your ear-listening, foot-stomping, woohooing pleasure: The Kiffness, Hot Water, Albert Frost and Tubatsi Mpho Moloi, Gerald Clark, Southern Wild, Bam Bam Brown, Bombshelter Beast, The Toast, The Blues Broers, Crosscurrent, Sutherland, Poor Princes, Warongx, Orah and the Kites, Half ‘N Half, Amy Ayanda, Basson Laubscher and Little Ringo.
Over 32 more bands to be released soon.
4 days, 4 stages, 50+ bands, you and your lilo!
Apart from the best in local music and comedy, Up the Creek always delivers in terms of entertainment. In previous years festival-goers have experienced everything from celebrity weddings and surprise riverside opera performances to live shows on a Pied Piper-like jam van’s rooftop stage and a drifting four-poster bed in the Anything That Floats Competition. It’s been an unforgettable journey and the festival’s 30 Year Reunion at the River promises to be even more epic!
