Mr and Miss Mnzansi ends on high note
Fellow winner, Thobekile Malabela said her crowning meant that she would have to start working harder on programmes that will have an immediate impact on the community she lives in.
The return of the second annual Mr & Miss Mzansi International Beauty Pageant concluded on a high note as the pageant ushered new title holders in a glamorous affair.
The prestigious pageant celebrates the rich cultural diversity, highlights important social issues, such as education, poverty, violence, and strives to make a positive impact in the lives of South Africans.
The pageant had 35 contestants in total that competed for the title, across different categories and age groups from seven to 30-years-old.
The evening saw the crowning of the overall Winner, Summerose Nyembe, King – Junior Zakwe, Queen – Thobekile Malabela, Teen Queen – Alilitha Mphaphela and Pre-Teen Queen – Sandile Ndlovu.
” Our title holders’ duties and responsibilities are many and varied. All the winners are expected to work together as a team to pursue their individual goals and support each other while building themselves as brands.
“Most importantly, they have become the faces of the pageant, representing the organisation,” an elated Pertunia Malingisa, founder of the pageant competition told the publication.
The winners each walked away with gift vouchers from different brands worth R30 000, including a bursary from Siyanakekela Computer Academy.
Speaking to the publication, overall winner 20-years-old Summerose Nyembe who hails from Dobsonville said she was honoured to represent her community.
