Hollywoodbets assists Protea Glen College recover from looting
The sports betting company also launched its NPO and donated cheque prizes totalling R674 000 worth of cash to different organisations at an event held in Meadowlands.
Protea Glen College had previously suffered looting during the civil unrest that took place in parts of Soweto in July. Yesterday, South Africa’s sports betting company, Hollywoodbets came through for the college, handing over laptops and office chairs at an event held in Meadowlands. The founder of the college, Busiswa Fanana said that it was heartbreaking to witness the looting taking place at her college. Protea Glen College offers IT literature and development.
“I was actually there when the looting happened, I witnessed everything, I saw my computers all over the place and at that time I thought this was the end of my college, I have never been that heartbroken,” said Fanana. “I am so grateful for what Hollywoodbets has done for our college, thanks to them, we now have laptops which are mobile computers. Words can’t describe how i feel right now, this actually took me by surprise, I never thought I would be one of the beneficiaries,” Fanana added.
