2500L water tank to help Vukani Primary
The tank will play a crucial role in helping the school’s feeding scheme by providing water for its garden project, led by the Lesedi Empowerment Centre.
A 2500 litre water tank was donated to Vukani Primary School on Wednesday afternoon.
The tank will play a crucial role in helping the school’s feeding scheme by providing water for its garden project, led by the Lesedi Empowerment Centre (LEC).
Elizabeth Mthimkhulu, The founder of the LEC said: “The tank will be very helpful for the garden, more than that, it will help in cooking and hygiene. We know how scarce water can be. We use water every day for various things beyond just the garden. We are very grateful to have received this,” she explained.
The tank was donated by Midvaal Tanks and Water Storage Solutions, speaking on their behalf was Brandon Minnaar.

“We understand that water is essential and we want to make sure everyone has access to it. We know that water is a scarce resource all around the world and we think this will be a step forward in combating that shortage. We also understand the school has a feeding scheme and that was a big part of why we decided on donating this tank. Especially now with the pandemic, we need water to wash hands, to drink, to cook, almost every activity these kids take part involves water in some way or another,’ explained.
The Midvaal Tanks team also hoped that the donation would highlight the importance of saving water, that parents and teachers alike would take the time to teach kids water-saving habits.
“I think it’s a step in the right direction and hopefully parents and teachers will also take this as an opportunity to educate kids about water scarcity and preservation,” said Amor Viola Barnard, the team’s Sales Agent.
