Sipho Somniso is living his dream

September 2015- Sipho Somniso is a 31 year old who was born and bred in Dobsonville, Soweto. He started his career as a promoter for MAQ Washing Powder, a brand that has a reputation for going up against the big giants in the industry.

Travelling most of the time and learning different cultures, lifestyles and traditions in South Africa, Sipho fell in love with Marketing and creating different strategies for consumers. He studied I.T with Rosebank College and he is currently finishing his Marketing Degree with IMM Graduate School.

He gained most of his marketing experience with MAQ Washing Powder, having been with the brand from its early stages in 2004 until it gained significant market share. Working for the brand as a Promoter, Promotions Manager as well as Brand Manager, the spirit of Entrepreneurship was beating in his heart. He then with his partner started a company called Nakanjani Media in 2013 where he is now Executive Director. Nakanjani Media is a company specializing in below the line activations.

“Working with MAQ has been a big opportunity for me and my business. Also it is the only company that has taken on the multinationals and survived. I have also fulfilled some of the dreams dear to me… Giving people with talent jobs and having them realize that they can make a living from their talent. However, I still have a long way to go… Thanks to MAQ for giving me that extra push!” says Somniso.
