Brief Profile, Siziwe Ngema
Musician Siziwe Ngema who hails from KwaZulu-Natal has always had dreams of making it big in the music industry. She grew up in Inanda. Siziwe grew up with nine siblings and that taught her how to share and being part of a team.
Growing up Siziwe kept her dreams of wanting to be a singer to herself and no one knew that she could sing. She was not part of any music choir and she was not recognised as a singer.
This all changed when one day she went to a hall in her neighbourhood where a competition was taking place. She didn’t have the registration fee to enter so she listened through the window.
The announcer asked for someone to sing a religious song. She somehow managed to get inside the hall and grabbed the microphone and sang her lungs out. Everyone was surprised and that was the beginning of her career.
At the age of 19 Siziwe joined Joyous Celebrations after being spotted by the group’s founder Lindelani Mkhize. She toured with the group for two years.
She later joined another successful world touring musical production,Umoja The Spirit of Togetherness as a lead singer of a song called Paradise Road. She toured 27 countries with the Umoja cast.
When she returned to South Africa she joined Mango Groove as a back-up singer. She has also worked a sessionist with artists Ringo Madlingozi, Joe Nina,Spikiri, Zahara, and Camagwini to name the few.
Siziwe is not only a singer but also a song writer, she is also a versatile performer who dances while singing. She wrote her latest single Tshotsho with DJ Kholile Gumede also known as DJ Clock. Currently working on her new debut. Her sound is mixed with soul music, crossover to west afro dance music. She have a strong ;lyrical content.
She says the late musician Busi Mhlongo has influenced her. She says her Zulu culture also influences her music. She has also written a song for her upcoming album titled Umhlabaawunoni. A beautiful tribute to her late father.
Siziwe’s future goals include touring the world and perform in stadiums and world stages. Her motto to live by, don’t allow your porvety to dertemine your future. One of her greatest achievement in her career was to perform for late president Nelson Mandela during one of his birthdays in the United Kingdom.She has shared the stage with international acts such as Jah Rule, LL Cool J, Bervelly Knight, Sean Paul, Will Young, and Sugar Babes.
Siziwe says she would love to share the stage with Beyonce one day. Her biggest dream is to own a charity home helping elders and poor. In 2018 featured on Asinamali Mbongeni Ngema movie and sound track.
Currently working on her Album to be release in 2018 under AMPM. She is available for bookings.
