Ready, set, cook
The Good Food and wine Show in Gauteng kicked off in high gear with the very first MasterChef SA Live experience. Callum Hann, MasterChef Australia winner and judge on the show, Andrew Atkinson were there to add extra zest to the show.
In an effort to re-create the MasterChef experience, the show has put together the Pressure Test, Mystery Box and Invention Challenge.
In the Pressure test contestants were given Andrew Atkinson’s Citrus Gin Seared Tuna with Salad Niçoise to re-create in just half an hour. Among the contestants were Warren Pearce and Sarah Brauns, public relations officers at Hirsch’s, the largest independently owned retailer in South Africa. After careful tasting, deliberation and comparing, Warren Pearce was crowned the winner of the MasterChef SA Live Experience Pressure Test Challenge.
“I was so nervous, but I just focused on the task at hand and as we always say at Hirsch’s, Go for It!” said a surprised Warren Pearce after receiving a winners handshake
