TV presenter and actor Lungile Radu has been announced as the official host for reality show Big Brother Mzansi where South Africans will be competing for a whopping prize of R1 million.
The show that airs February 2 at 19:00 will be screened live 24/7 on channels 197 and 198 to DStv Premium and Compact audiences.
Radu will be the only contact that contestants will get to interact with for the period they in the show. His role as the host will be to keep viewers updated about the show and who will be exiting the house.
The show will be no different to Big Brother Africa except it being exclusive to South Africans only.
However few details regarding the number of contestants and how long they will be staying in the house are known.
“Contestants are part of the big reveal, and due to the nature and format of the show will only be revealed on the day when the show goes LIVE,” says M- Net spokesperson Nomphelo Nzimande.
Radu is thrilled to be presenting another big show after Fear Factor and wants to use this platform to learn more and better his skills as a host.
“This does not only appeal to me as the presenter but also the producer in me. It will also give me the chance to hone my live presenting skills.
Being on-air in real time is one of the most challenging aspects of TV presenting and there’s no better place to master that skill than on a program where unpredictable characters, shocking twists and unexpected turns are in fact, normal,” he says.
Commenting on Radu’s appointment as presenter for Big Brother Mzansi, M-Net Director for Local Interest Channels Yolisa Phahle says he was a natural choice suitable to his experience.
