Forbes claims that a cover being shared on social media by DJ Sbu Leope, featuring him on their cover and endorsing his energy drink is in fact fake.
“By @sipho_jiyane “Super proud of u big bro. I now wonder how much of this story we will see in the media spotlight. In fact i know we wont see much of this….to prove their agenda again this great man.
“I know i apeak for many when i say Media or not, we are forever grateful and proud of the impact SBU is making in our society. There are few people in our country who give up their time to motivate and give back to the youth.
“Its great to see that internationals recognise your efforts, a true indication of the real reach of your works.
“You are a true inspiration my man. God bless you in all your endeavours.”
Well, all of that would be quite nice, except Forbes Africa has issued a press release saying, “on the 20th of March 2015 Forbes Africa was made aware of a fictitious cover being shared on social media of Sibusiso Leope, also known as DJ Sbu.
“The cover features the entertainer and an endorsement of Mr Leope’s energy drink.”
“This release is to inform the public at large that the cover in question, depicted above, has been fabricated by the Mr. Leope and in no way represents or warrants an endorsement by Forbes Africa or its affiliates,” Forbes said.
That said Sbu has been mentioned by Forbes’ website, in an article on African energy drinks.
