Vleesbaai

Vleesbaai, a small village between Stilbaai and Mossel Bay on the Garden Route, offers a seaside spot that is unspoiled and far from the madding crowd. The beaches hide shells, waiting to be collected, or sands warmed by the sun, wait for swimmers to return to their “heated” towels. For the more energetic, take long walks along the beach and spot whales or dolphins. Surfers whisper that Vleesbaai is a great wave, especially if the easterly is blowing, and the gentle swells that can sometimes reach five metres are great for body boarders.

If you are a 4×4 enthusiast, try the Vleesbaai Dune Route, one of the only places in South Africa where you are permitted to get close to the beach.

Close by is the Fransmans Hoek Nature Reserve, the Reins Nature and Game Reserve, Stillbaai and Mossel Bay, with all its attractions and excellent Golf Courses in town or at Pinnacle Point.
