Everyone wins with the Garden Route Casino Charity Slots Tournament!
Garden Route Casino, Mossel Bay’s favourite entertainment destination, hosted the finals of their Charity Slots Tournament on Sunday, 29 September.
The atmosphere was electrifying as the charity representatives cheered their contestants on, in the hope of winning a donation for a cause close to their hearts.
Over 60 contestants battled it out for first, second, third and fourth places. All 18 players who made it into the semi-finals enjoyed the privilege of choosing a charity from a list of 32 pre-registered charities to receive a cash donation from Garden Route Casino. Patrick van Wyk won R10 000 in prizes and R15 000 cash for the Rise and Shine Soup Kitchen. In second place was Helene Fourie who won R5 000 in prizes and donated R5 000 towards CANSA Relay for Life Garden Route. Sicily James took third place with R3 000 in prizes. She also chose CANSA Relay for Life Garden Route to receive a donation of R3 000 on her behalf. Fourth place was Anne Giles who won R2 000 in prizes and donated R2 000 to the Mossel Bay Surf Lifesaving Club.
A total of R25 000 was donated to very deserving charities. The contestants and representatives enjoyed the event thoroughly and look forward to competing again next year!
