Malelane, Lowveld, Mpumalanga

Malelane, Mpumalanga, South Africa

Malelane is a small agricultural and eco-tourism town on the border of the Kruger National Park, east of Nelspruit on the N4. Malelane caters for tourists heading into the Kruger Park at the nearby Malelane Gate – one of the main entrances to the Park.

Besides the Kruger National Park, nearby wildlife attractions include community co-owned private reserves and game lodges such as the Ligwalagwala Conservancy. The Gary Player designed Leopard Creek Golf Course in Malelane is one of South Africa’s top Golf Courses.

The Malelane area is the most mountainous section of the Kruger National Park, and is one of the the best areas to see leopard. The Berg-en-Dal Camp in the Kruger Park is one of the best family camps and this is close to the Malelane Gate.

Getting there: Take the N4 east from Nelspruit toward Komatipoort.
