Mixing it Up – Canal Walk’s Free Entertainment Programme Hits the High Note with Capetonians
Canal Walk’s FREE entertainment programme has proved to be a hit with customers of all ages during its first two weeks on stage, offering storytelling, musical performances, clowns, dancers and even a touch of magic.
Events Manager Amanda McCarthy observed that: “Visitors are really enjoying the entertainment – from kids watching the clown and magician with awe, to the audience dancing along to the Street Stylers.”
The festivities are part of Canal Walk Shopping Centre’s 21st birthday celebrations and ‘Back to 2000’ campaign. As a long-time supporter of the local arts and entertainment scene with their regular theatre offerings, this event is also the centre’s way of paying homage to local entertainers who have been hard hit by the successive lockdowns.
With only two more weekends to go (the programme ends on Sunday 31 October), make a date for some fun and to support the following performers:
Performers Include:
Music & Storytelling – Jaco Griesel & Zoe McLaughlin; Red Cello Duo
Magicians – The Illusive Stuart Lightbody and Mawonga Gayiya
Clowns, tumblers, dancers – Clown Conc, Hakunamatata Tumblers and The Street Stylers
