Selborne

Selborne, is situated just outside of Pennington along the sub-tropical Umdoni Coast, KwaZulu-Natal.   Here you will find a collection of rocky coves, warm Indian Ocean with its golden beaches and  sub-tropical vegetation that have always drawn the crowds.

Selborne Park was once a sugar and dairy stud farm.  Denis Barker decided to turn his farm into a golf course in 1985 and took the creative reigns with his younger son Gary and built the magnificent Selborne Golf Course.

Selborne Golf Course boasts stunning water features, lush foliage, indigenous trees, monkeys and a myriad of birds that take advantage of the natural habitat, bush buck, grey duiker and the rare blue duiker are also found here. It is rated in the top 100 golf courses in South Africa, by the number one golf magazine, Golf Digest.

The Signature hole is the par-five third hole – a unique hole, curving and sweeping downhill through an avenue of trees and bush to a green protected by water.

The bird-life, lush vegetation and abundance of water make for a beautiful setting. Selborne has built a reputation as the “Augusta of South Africa”.

Getting there: Selborne Country Club and Golf Estate is only 40 minutes south of Durban. The estate is a prestigious sub-tropical retreat on the edge of the warm Indian Ocean and is just a few kilometres inland from Pennington.
