It’s All Systems Go for the Serendipity Travel ABH Chatsworth Fair
It’s all systems go for the annual community fundraising initiative, the Serendipity Travel ABH Chatsworth Fair! Family fun will be the order of the day at the Chatsworth Circus site – adjacent to the Chatsworth Stadium – from Thursday 26 July to Sunday 29 July 2018.
“We are looking forward to an interesting and eventful weekend with two Bollywood legends on one stage for the first time in Chatsworth. In addition to that, we have stilt walkers, clowns, pony rides a variety of food stalls, vibrant flea market and on Friday 27th of July we are offering unlimited funfair rides for just R99 per person,” said Jay Marrie, Fundraising/Donor Relations for ABH.
The fair, which has been running since 1989, is a highlight on the Chatsworth community calendar. Since 1921, the Aryan Benevolent Home (ABH) has provided holistic care for children, the elderly and the physically or mentally challenged regardless of race, religion or social class. The fair is the primary source of funding for this non-profit organisation, which provides residential facilities and developmental care to more than 690 people nationally.
Learners attending this year’s Serendipity Travel ABH Chatsworth Fair will enjoy a host of funfair activities and there is free entrance for all students into the fair which boasts more than 100 stalls selling food and an exciting array of retail products.
There will be a schools’ special Open Day on Thursday, 26 and Friday, 27 July for all primary and secondary schools. The Serendipity Travel ABH Chatsworth Fair will be running dedicated edu-fair schools’ programme running on both days. For just R40, scholars get access to unlimited carnival rides at Tommy’s World Fair.
Two of Bollywood’s well known playback celebrities – Abhijeet Bhattacharya and Amit Kumar – will put on two special evening performances for lucky audiences. These superstar singers will feature at two special events, forming part of the Serendipity Travel ABH Chatsworth Fair – Durban’s Greatest Charity Event.
The first is a spectacular dinner and concert on the evening of Friday, 27 July at Durban’s City Hall. The cost is R1 250 per person or R12 500 for a table of 10.
On Saturday, 28 July, from 8pm to 11pm, Abhijeet Bhattacharya and Amit Kumar will perform at the Chatsworth Circus site. The cost of unreserved seating is R100 and R150.
Fair admission for Friday and Sunday is R20 for adults and R10 for children. The admission for Saturday is R35 for adults and R20 for children.
