Bulwer

Bulwer in KwaZulu-Natal is a small town situated on the R617, between Boston and Underberg. The town was founded on its forestry industry, and an original hand-sawn Yellowwood Church still runs services on the first Sunday of every month and is open to visitors. The town is a hot spot for paragliders and hang-gliders from around the country, who enjoy flying in this region all year round. In winter, Bulwer is known for the snow that covers the town in a gorgeous white blanket, so be sure to pack warmly between July and September.

The town is connected to nearby Boston through the Boston/Bulwer Beat, an organization established to promote the tourism potential of the area.

There are a few favourite birding destinations in and around Bulwer and visitors are attracted to the peace and quiet that the quaint town provides.
