Hibberdene, Hibiscus Coast, Kwazulu-Natal

The popular resort town of Hibberdene on the Hibiscus CoastHibberdene is widely regarded as the gateway to the Hibiscus Coast of Kwazulu-Natal. Lying at the mouth of the Umzimai River, it has become one of South Africa’s most popular beach-holiday destinations, and has five magnificent beaches, ensuring that visitors are never left short of an opportunity to relax.

Popular activities at Hibberdene include scuba diving, snorkeling, fishing and whale and dolphin watching. The warm Indian Ocean, friendly local people and its affordability as a holiday destination has put Hibberdene on the map as one of the most popular destinations on the South Coast.

Its location at the northern boundary of the Hibiscus Coast and on the border of the Umdoni Coast places it right in the middle of the South Coast so that access to excellent golf courses, numerous nature reserves, world class dive sites and some of the best fishing spots is only a short drive away.

Getting there: Hibberdene is approximately 100kms south of Durban on the N2.
